Dutch is the common standard language for The Netherlands and Flanders (Northern part of Belgium). Though the written language is very much the same, you'll definitely hear it when speaking to a Dutch (< Netherlands) or Flemish person. In Flanders there are still some very distinct Flemish dialects. They tend to be spoken less than before but they are certainly not dead.
