Thanks Linda,

I have no problem doing the big hop. We are a simple single cpu system.

My employer cancelled our $700 Cheryl Watson newsletter that saved our
bacon when we were CPU constrained. I know that a couple of thousand
dollars for Share is absolutely out of the question.

Hi Neal,

If you are going to make the big hop, you might consider installing/using the
driving system available on ShopzSeries.  I have not used it myself, but I
think that there are others here who could advise on that.

I found SMP/e 3.5 to be a good and fairly easy CBPDO install.  You need to be

My management didn't want to pay for a conference either.  I wrote a business

Indeed. And once installed, sign on to Shopz and request a "client
certificate", install the certificate into your ESM or other certificate
store using the instructions provided, set up a RECEIVE ORDER job, and

... I need to order maintenance for CICS 2.3.
ShopZseries wants an installation report to order a RSU. We are running z/OS
1.4 so the SMP module required is not available. Is there any way to get this
maintenance ordered or do I have to download and install a newer SMP/e to
do this?

ShopzSeries does allow you to order an RSU with out submitting an
"installed software report." After you select RSU, choose for "all
licensed products." Of course this will likely get you a very large PTF
order, but it does not require the installed software report.

And as already mentioned, SMP/E V3.5 (the latest release) will run on
z/OS 1.4 and installing it should be relatively quick and painless if
you choose that direction.

I thought that there was an option In shopZseries to not use the installation
report.
You can just somehow find what you are looking for and order from there, if you
can find anything on that
befuddled system. IBMLINK SRD is a lot better.

Or, if you have friends at another location, send them a copy of your CICS CSI.
Have them run the SMP/E GIMXSID program to create the output file. Then have
them send you that output file so you can upload it to IBM.

Why don't you just go to IBMLINK SRD and order from there.
Although you will have to know the ptf numbers you want to order - you can get
those from the
Psp buckets or check on IBMLINK which ptfs you need for 2.3.
