Which kind of file are you allocating? And what are allocation space options? Aw, at least give the guy a hint. Change the SORTOUT DISP to DISP=(NEW,CATLG). When you have to diagnose allocation problems, deleting the dataset on ABEND is a bad idea as the dataset typically gets wiped on the failure and you can't even use ISPF 3.4 or any other tools to check on how much space was actually allocated before it blew.
