If you want windoze then you'll probably be forced to use XP, with its
onerous license terms. Why not Linux, which would be more reliable?

Why not AMD?

I totally agree with you, Peggy. I think that'll be the most popular
configuration, using Linux on zSeries.

Shmuel:

Don't have experience with the product, but have recently attended a local
IBM Proof of Technology session on Omegamon DE. There they talked about
the TEP. Didn't get platform sizing information, but got that the TEP will
run on the following:
Windows 2000 Server (and Advanced Server)
Windows 2003 Server (Advanced and Enterprise)
Red Hat 4 Linux (Intel and zSeries)
SLES 8 and 9 (Intel and zSeries)

So, if you happen to have Linux on zSeries running, then you could
provision your own server!

Hope that helps.
Regards,
Peggy

No intention to get into this Intel-AMD issue, I need sizing of required
capacity for budget planning.
I hope to get field experience with CandleNet Portal in this respect.

We are mainframe dinosaurs, the PC/distributed servers (Intel, AMD,
blades) are provisioned by other group.
