Mod-27s will buy you back a lot. Yes, most large data centers hit this awhile
ago.
You do not say what release of z/OS you are running, or what zSeries hardware.

Subject:UCB Constraint
We are reachiing the limit for the number of UCBs defined on the systems
in our SYSPLEX with 8 systems. We have about 1,600 left.
Have any of you run into this situation, and what have you done to get
around it? Mod 27, Mod 54,
I know that there are installations that have SYSPLEXes that are larger
than ours. How do you folks deal with the UCB limit?
Thanks for any help you can give!!
