Tnx. Will pass this info to our storage support group. I was told it was fixed
by private
email but couldn't verify. However it seems after all posting I make them
nervous not to say
scared about 6.0/6.1. So far the 6.1 is more a hardware issue.

Seems I need to get in touch with them this week!!!

Roland, I just had a quick look at our production system - I see no
(obvious) candidates for a memory leak at all (in STK code anyway) in V6.0

Roland, let me know how that upgrade goes. I was unofficially
warned aginst going to 6.1 (although that was several months ago),
so we are sticking with 6.0 still for now.

What library do you use? Do you know if you have the SL8500 or
are you still using 9310 (powderhorn) or something smaller?

I care about the orphan ESCA (memory leak) I seen.
Hopefully this will be fixed in 6.0 or 6.1.

I share all the info regarding this topic with our StorageTek guy and he listen
and is surprised
about the SL8500 problems. Thanks a lot for this info !!!

Just the opposite here. When were ready to migrate from 4.1, we were told not

Ditto. 6.1 was just went GA when we had to get ready for the SL8500, but had
been GA for at least a few months when we got our "whisper".

We had to get V6 installed in a bit of a hurry when it was made known that a
8500 was about to come in the door, and needed a LIBGEN. Haven't had any
problems with that, haven't looked at 6.1 yet.

Very timely posts.

I just got NCS 6.1 loaded down.

Waiting for the VM side to verify the toleration mtce is on before I
start it up on the TEST LPAR.

Roland's post is a good heads up.

Any specific problems with 6.1, or just a general sense of "not ready for prime
time"? We're working on an upgrade from 5.1 to 6.1. So far, we've only had
one minor problem (unwanted trace output that won't turn off), but we haven't
tested it very hard yet. We're only running CSC/SMC, not HSC. Our library is
controlled by ACSLS.

Have a look at the EREP software records - you'll probably have truckloads
for the subsystem they use.
I haven't seen any since we upgraded to V6. Don't know about the ECSA - I'll
check next week.
