Tnx. Will pass this info to our storage support group. I was told it was fixed by private email but couldn't verify. However it seems after all posting I make them nervous not to say scared about 6.0/6.1. So far the 6.1 is more a hardware issue. Seems I need to get in touch with them this week!!! Roland, I just had a quick look at our production system - I see no (obvious) candidates for a memory leak at all (in STK code anyway) in V6.0 Shane ... Well I don't care about the .0 or .1 :-)) I care about the orphan ESCA (memory leak) I seen. Hopefully this will be fixed in 6.0 or 6.1. I share all the info regarding this topic with our StorageTek guy and he listen and is surprised about the SL8500 problems. Thanks a lot for this info !!! We got a similar whisper with 5.0/5.1 - but was rescinded within a couple of months. We had to get V6 installed in a bit of a hurry when it was made known that a 8500 was about to come in the door, and needed a LIBGEN. Haven't had any problems with that, haven't looked at 6.1 yet. We're working on an upgrade from 5.1 to 6.1. So far, we've only had one minor problem (unwanted trace output that won't turn off), but we haven't tested it very hard yet. We're only running CSC/SMC, not HSC. Have a look at the EREP software records - you'll probably have truckloads for the subsystem they use. I haven't seen any since we upgraded to V6. Don't know about the ECSA - I'll check next week.
