Testing with dates in the future
Hallo, in our installation we do application testing with special dates like end of month, end of year or leap day by IPling all Lpars in a test sysplex with a date/time offset which can be as big as 100 days or more. Does someone run test sysplexes also this way with future dates? JES2 Exit 23
Hallo, I‘m for the first time involved with JES2 exits. The issue is printing with PSF. I have to write accounting information from the Job Card on the Job Header Page. This will be done in PSF Header Exit APSUX01. The question is how to get the information there. I would like to pass the accounting field by putting it in the JSPA in JES2 Exit 23 HASX23A. Can somebody give me a hint, how to get the Jobcard in HASX23A, or an other solution? Re: jes2 Routine XINTKEY
Hallo, I would like to know what parameters I have to put in which register when calling it and what it gives back. I use it for searching C/I text dsname and would like to use it also for C/I text disp. best regards Markus -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
jes2 Routine XINTKEY
Hallo, we use in JES2 Exit 6 $CALL XINTKEY,ERRET= for searching C/I Text. Can someone tell me, where I can find documentation over XINTKEY. kind regards Markus Haselbach Credit-Suisse AG -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Performance gains with LFAREA ?
Hello, we start using LFAREA (1M pages) with z/OS 1.13 and DB2 10 on z196. From IBM I read: "Using large pages can improve performance for some applications by reducing the overhead of dynamic address translation". We wonder how to measure this performance improvement. What we're trying now is measuring and comparing CPU usage/ SQL with and without 1M pages. Does someone have experience with this performance improvement and can anybody advice me on what should/could be measured? kind regards Markus -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Re: Highly used Coupling Facility blocks Sysplex
Hello, in our production sysplex (where the issue took place) we have two CF's each with five dedicted processors. best regards Markus Haselbach -- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
Highly used Coupling Facility blocks Sysplex
We had an outage cause by an overloaded Coupling Facility. It’s in a parallel sysplex with eight Images and z/OS 1.13 RSU1206 and DB2 10. All images are on Z196, also the CF, with CFCC 17. What happened is that a DB2 CF structure (a group buffer pool) was flooded by applications doing tablespace scan. A lot of directory reclaims occurred. The CF was not able to handle this high number of GBP requests which resulted in increased CPU activity for this structure. The CPU Utilization of the CF got up to 75%. The application has requested more and more GBP entries which slowed down the whole sysplex. Also applications using other structures in the CF had been nearly blocked. Did some experience similar problems with overloaded CF’s ?
