OK, I have to say it. Especially given the central role that LOGREC plays in mainframe software and hardware diagnosis, EREP is the least user-friendly utility that IBM supplies. Yeah, I gave it a shot. Even many years ago when I did something that reviewed LOGREC, it really did not do any analysis, just built a web page(s) with an index. I guess MXG or CBTTAPE File 47, both use SAS to read the LOGREC data set, but from there you would have determine what analysis you want, hardware or software? (and all the subcategories for them, tape, disk, other?) A Google searc with "analysis of logrec" resulted in some things, but mostly priced services. Even many years ago when I did something that reviewed LOGREC, it really did not do any analysis, just built a web page(s) with an index. I guess MXG or CBTTAPE File 47, both use SAS to read the LOGREC data set, but from there you would have determine what analysis you want, hardware or software? (and all the subcategories for them, tape, disk, other?) A Google searc with "analysis of logrec" resulted in some things, but mostly priced services.
