Browsing 'sys1.nucleus(IEANUC01)' of the sysres volume and doing a "find" on IEALIMIT is one easy way. On our system, the first two occurrences are part of the external symbol information and the third is the CSECT. The IBM-provided IEALIMIT has not been recompiled since 1989 and it would have IEALIMIT 89279 HBB4410 near the beginning. Not sure how this played out. In a previous life, we replaced IEALIMIT with USILIMIT when XA arrived. USILIMIT can control more areas of storage than USILIMIT. If both exits are present, USILIMIT takes precedence. . . One does not need to be using IEALIMIT. It should have been replaced by IEFUSI a while ago. If you are at z/OS 2.3 or higher suggest you get just use new PARMLIB member SMFLIMxx instead of IEFUSI or IEALIMIT. Michael Brennan Mainframe Engineering HCL Technologies Ltd. Re: IEALIMIT Linkedit Example?
We used to have usermod for iealimit, but it was retired quite a few years ago in favor of SMFLIMxx coding. Ours didn’t do much except reserve some memory above and below the line. I know for fact we don’t have one now, and IEALIMIT in IEANUC01 is 72bytes on my system as well. _ Dave Jousma AVP | Manager, Systems Engineering Fifth Third Bank | 1830 East Paris Ave, SE | MD RSCB2H | Grand Rapids, MI 49546 616.653.8429 | fax: 616.653.2717 -Original Message- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List On Behalf Of Michael Babcock Sent: Thursday, March 19, 2020 1:41 PM To: IBM-MAIN@LISTSERV.UA.EDU Subject: IEALIMIT Linkedit Example? **CAUTION EXTERNAL EMAIL** **DO NOT open attachments or click on links from unknown senders or unexpected emails** Does anyone have an example JCL to link IEALIMIT into the nucleus? Execute this and see what's printed out.
