Which ones would those have been? Our 360/50 used punched mylar cards. Any kind of disk that was available at the time would have been physically too large to fit in the frame :-) Regards, Richard Schuh Why not FBA? Oh, seems to me that some of the older high strength CPU's used FBA devices to hold the microcode. Ed Martin Aultman Health Foundation 330-588-4723 ext 40441
Re: My 45th Anniversary at SRU
Keep it going. 45 years is a long time. I have been in DP for 42 years, first 7 as an IBM CE, then 3 IBM Tech Writer, 17 as an SE (MVS,VM,VSE) - buyout 1993, 3 years consulting and starting my 13th year here (VM/VSE and iSeries). I will probably call it quits at the end of this year. Jeffry A. Re: OT: S/360 hardware related.
Yes, it's either a 360-20 or 360-25, I had to work on them in the 60's. Jeffry A. I've seen a lot of S/360 pictures and have even been in the presence of one, but I don't ever recall a S/360 looking like this. Obviously, there is a printer and a card reader in the picture. Is the unit in the middle the controller for these devices? But on second look, I can see the Emergency Pull and the dials for setting addresses (IPL , etc.). So, what S/360 is this unit used on?
