I've been doing this since VM/SP3 (before there was a VMLINK EXEC). Every software package and every release of that package has its own mini-disk. If something is found buggy in the new release I can quickly change the linking EXEC to link to the previous release mini-disk. It's also nice to be able to switch back and forth with the releases to compare results. And it makes it easy to install a new release of VM. None of my EXECs are on what I consider to be IBM owned disks like the Y/S disk. /Fran Hensler at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania USA for 46 years mailto:f...@zvm.sru.edu http://zvm.sru.edu/~fjh +1.724.738.2153 "Yes, Virginia, there is a Slippery Rock" --------------------------------------------------------------------------
