PTF installation question

Hello listers,
I was looking into z/VM with XIV storage. It is supported only with SVC and in 
z/VM 5.4 you need two PTFs to support it.
How do you install those PTFs for fresh z/VM 5.4 install ? When your only 
storage is XIV ? If I remember correctly, you first configure disks, do 
installation on disks and only then you apply RSU.
Or do I miss something obvious ?

You don't need the PTFs to install on SVC, but make sure you have the 
correct level of SVC.  Before you go into production you need to get the 
z/VM PTFs installed.
