Maybe everyone's spirit is broken after Alan Ackerman's (somewhat
warranted) dis of CMS as a development platform on the Memorial Day
(interesting timing) holiday.

MEMO MOVINGON - Will Roden's retirement. Was: Test to see if listserve is working for IBMVM list

2007-05-31 Thread Mike Walter
Wow the greying of the IBM z/VM Development lab hits home (again).

For other doddering VM old-timers who also used VMSHARE (for any with VM
historical interests, see: http://vm.marist.edu/~vmshare/) this would have
gone in MEMO MOVINGON which was entitled: Another day, another job (or,
The Song of the Gypsy Programmers).

You delivered some well-received presentations at CAVMEN (including way
back in April 1999: VM, Java, and NetREXX ; CMS Pipelines 101;
Avoiding Pipeline Stalls).

Will, best wishes on your next career! Remember your roots... stay
subscribed to the IBMVM list. Continue to contribute to the Greater VM
Community - maybe *YOU* can provide that one kernel of truth that will
nudge senior IBM management into seeing how good CMS is for actual
application development and production with just a little more
investment. Or... maybe just enjoy our hobbies in retirement!? :-)

Best regards,

Mike Walter
