[IceHorses] Flygone 7000
I recommended Flygone 7000 to my vet who has a horse with summer eczema, and she thinks it's great but finds it expensive. She would like to buy in quantity and perhaps be a distributor. Anyone have a contact I can pass on to her? Sue
Re: [IceHorses] Peppy is in jail
Oh boy, I can relate to this Wanda! I have one (Icelandic gelding) that somehow manages to figure out how to get out when he is allowed to be in the pasture with the other horses too. The other horses don't get out with him and we have not yet figured out where it is that he gets out. Hot wire IS what I have in my pastures...I think he has figured out that there is just enough slack in the line that if he ducks and goes really fast, he just gets a quick zap and then its over. He usually doesn't get out until they have been in the pasture for a while and the choicest greenery is obviously on the other side of the fence. I hate to have to separate him from the herd, but when he gets out he then gets confined to the area where I have corral panels. Let me know if you figure out a reliable way to keep Peppy in that doesn't cost an arm and a leg Pat G., in MN

I believe this must happen in the dead of night. Dagur has a beautiful double mane, and it's chopped and ragged and yanked out. It might be just a product of the boys wrestling and not caring what they bite. If you find a way to put a stop to it...let me know. Last year, Dagur's mane was nearly chewed right off. There were just stubs left...and it looks like the same thing might be happening this year.. Wanda

Noo! DEFINITELY taupe. Oh darn. I'll never gain membership in the Secret Color Society... Oh well. I'd love my boy even if he were purple with green eyelashes. :) Karen Thomas, NC No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Re: [IceHorses] 1/3 of their Wgt
--- Raven [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Wow...according to this article an Icelandic Horse can carry up to 1/3 of it's weight by the age of four. Hum...that would mean a 800 lb IcePony would be able to carry about 266 lbs. Hum. Doesn't that depend on the horse. I am not sure Scooter could carry my husband for long. He weighs 210. Karen Thomas wrote: I will take a LOT of Bitter Apple for 25 horses... :) Wonder if it can be ordered by the gallon?!! How about just putting it in Trausti's mane so the rest don't chew on his mane? Or all the manes being chewed on? The main ingredient in Bitter Yuck is rosemary extract so I bet if you bought a small bottle of pure rosemary oil and diluted it with water in a spray bottle, it would go a long way. It only takes a few drops...you can taste it to see how bitter you would like it. Trish

How about just putting it in Trausti's mane so the rest don't chew on his mane? Or all the manes being chewed on? It looked like several had been trimmed today - plus Melnir's tail - I'll have to see who isn't getting a haircut, and then I'll know who did it. Buck gave Falki a cute layered shag last year. For some reason, I suspect it's either Landi or Isak doing the work this year, but I'm not sure. Karen Thomas, NC [EMAIL PROTECTED]
