Hi Zoe, as with any breed, some are suitable for driving, and some
aren't. I know of one Icelandic who lives near me that's really
really a star at it, but his owner has taken some time and attention
to get him there.

We just started one of our guys this past winter. He's been ground
driven since he was a baby and seems to be taking to it well. I'll
attach a video from this past winter. I guess now we need a cart.

[IceHorses] Driving and pulling logs?

2007-04-19 Thread wcobpony
Hello!

I am new to this group and I am looking at getting an Icelandic horse.
I was wondering if anyone had done some driving and or pulled logs with
their Icelandic horse?

I would like to be able to do some chores with my new horses, such as
pulling small logs up to be cut, maybe moving some fire would on a
small sled. We do have a tractor but thought it would intersting to
have real horse power again!! I had a POA who use to do all that for
me, but he was put down two years ago at 30 years old. So I have been
looking to find something that is fun on trails and might to some
chores!

Thanks so Much!
Zoe
