RE: [IceHorses] New to lcelandics..all that HAIR!!
Having never seen another Icelandic in person do they eventually get a nice short summer coat? With all the hair that is coming out you think she should be BALD by now!! Hi Zoe and welcome to Icelandic ownership! People often don't recognize my horses as Icelandic's in the summer, because they shed so much, drastically changing appearances. This affects the color of some too, but not so much others. Do you have any pictures yet? Karen Thomas [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dear Zoe Yes, they will eventually shed out to a sleek, shiny summer coat. Welcome to the Icelandic horse family? Where are you in BC and tell us about your horse. We are in Vernon Christine Icelandic Horse Farm Robyn Hood & Phil Pretty Vernon BC Canada www.icefarm.com

Maybe you could wait a little? They say clipping too late will interfere with the normal shedding, and yes she will shed out slick as any horse and then all the huffing and breathing hard should go away. The mars coat king is awesome. Janice -- yipie tie yie yo

[IceHorses] New to lcelandics..all that HAIR!!
HI Everyone I just brought my new Icelandic mare home last week ( she is on a two week trial) and she is sheddingwill it EVER end? Today turned quite warm and poor thing was sweating like crazy after 15 minutes out riding. We have very steep terrain here so it is either UP or down no nice flat areas to ride. I think I will clip her tomorrow. Having never seen another Icelandic in person do they eventually get a nice short summer coat? With all the hair that is coming out you think she should be BALD by now!! Thanks Zoe in BC canada
