[id-android] WTI: An Android dogfood diet for the holidays

At Google, we are constantly experimenting with new products and
technologies, and often ask employees to test these products for quick
feedback and suggestions for improvements in a process we call dogfooding
(from "eating your own dogfood"). Well this holiday season, we are taking
dogfooding to a new level.

We recently came up with the concept of a mobile lab, which is a device that
combines innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on
Android to experiment with new mobile features and capabilities, and we
shared this device with Google employees across the globe. This means they
get to test out a new technology and help improve it.

Unfortunately, because dogfooding is a process exclusively for Google
employees, we cannot share specific product details. We hope to share more
after our dogfood diet.

Eclair manup bermasalah di 32A saat mo konek wifi..langsung reboot
androidnya..
dah coba pake 2 kernel patch diatas, hasilnya sami mawon..pas obtaining ip
address langsung reboot..
cek di logcat emang rom bug nampaknya..

setau saya app antivirus dah lama ada di market..
saya liat dapet rating tinggi pula..

tapi keknya sama kaya sistem linux lain ya..nih sistem dah antivirus..
karena app yg sifatnya memakai full access ke sistem pasti butuh root dan
kalo rom kita sdh root pasti akan keluar di super user, so kita bisa cek ini
app terpercaya atau tidak..
yg penting sebelum download app, baca komen2 orang2 dan cek ratingnya..

tapi saya ga pake antivirus apapun..so far so good..
saya concern dgn app yg jalan di memory, kalo bisa sedikit mungkin app yg
jalan di background..saya yakin program semcam ini akan jalan di
background..

Halo bro,

setahu gw android itu kan based on linux and java. Kalau di linux sih
biasanya kita gak butuh antivirus. Karena masing-masing proses punya
privilege-nya masing2. Begitu juga di android. Jadi gak segampang itu
untuk infect program lain, atau akses data.

Mungkin yang lebih diperlukan itu firewall dan malware tools. Gw blom
tahu defaultnya port apa aja yang kebuka di android dan gimana cara
tutupnya pake firewall. Kalau malware sih asal kita hati-hati aja tiap
kali install program. Kan ditanya tuh mau kasih akses apa aja ke
aplikasi yang akan kita install, misalnya ada game minta permission
daftar contact, kan mencurigakan, ngapain juga coba ? mendingan gak di
install terus cari2 info terlebih dahulu :)

anyway securewave itu setahu gw bukan antivirus, tapi salah satu
security tools, gunanya kalau kita kehilangan HP kita bisa mencegah
kehilangan data2 yang sensitif, untung2 di balikin ama yang
ngambil/nemu karena gak tahu pin-nya :)

Bro AH,

Setelah daku monitor di milis daku yg sama di googlegroups, ternyata tidak 
semua BB menghasilkan delivery message. Di milis tersebut ada banyak pengguna 
BB tetapi hany 1 member yg setiap kali posting dan menghasilkan delivery 
report. Dari hasil diskusi diketahui bahwa yang bersangkutan menggunakan OS 
5.0.4xx (maaf lupa pasti sebab data ada dikomputer) dan setelah diubah maka 
system deliver tidak muncul.

- orientation dah jalan meski pun di home belum jalan
- orientation jalan lebih responsif
- Lock screen keren banget
- gmail multiple email sync and it's works
- wifi yang jelas jalan, gigi biru belom coba
- gps + google maps jalan tapi navigation blm coba
- market masih versi standard
- bawaan keyboard standard,
- blm ada native im client, jadi harus diinstall ulang

setelah 1 jam pakai,cuma ada 1 FC

Trus pasang lagi, coba masuk ke recovery mode, berhasil.

saya kira gagal kan update spl nya. Check di fastboot mode ternyata udah
1.33.2005.

Saya power off dan masuk ke recovery mode. Wipe data trus flashing cyan
4.2.5 lagi.

Sekarang sudah 5 menitan stuck di G1 screen lagi, is it normal ?

Mending restore nandroid back up atau tunggu dulu yah ?

Jikalau ingin menggunakan terminal dengan misal file google map yg telah 
didownload ditaruh di sdcard dan direktori tujuan file akan diinstal di 
/system/app, maka dapat menggunakan command sbb :

su
mount -o remount,rw /system
find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name Maps.apk -delete
pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
install /sdcard/maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk 
/system/app/maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

Bisa, klo dari terminal perintah ngebuang gmapsnya ini

mount -o remount,rw /system 

find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.ap 

pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

Pas install gmaps..pakai file manager aja..

saya pernah liat di wiki, yg ada sampai class 6, tapi di class 6 itu memang
banyak levelnya lagi.
anehnya ya itu, awalnya class naik seiring naiknya speed access. sampai
class 6 trus speed masih bertambah, tapi class tetep 6 aja.

mo tanya neh para RR,

setelah memantau beberapa lama. sepertinya mulai keluar antivirus2
untuk android. yang mo saya tanyakan,
1. apakah saat ini memang dibutuhkan antivirus?
2. ada beberapa yang saya tahu, misalnya flexilis(antivirus untuk
PDA), securewave (pemenang aplikasi android 2009) dan antivirus (punya
android inc.)

saya pake flexilis, dan sepertinya tidak terlalu berarti hanya menscan
malware saja. kira2 mana kah antivirus yang bagus?
mana tau sudah ada yang pake dan mau menshare ilmunya disini?hehehe..

[id-android] Wta about haykuro's spl

Dear all..

Saya masih penasaran nih belum sukses.

Coba lagi deh mau upgrade spl G1 saya dari hard spl ke haykuro spl. Radio sih 
udah latest (2.22.19.26I ) dengan rom Cyan 4.2.5.

Dengan step berikut
1. Copy file haykuro spl ke sd card.
2. Copy Cyanogen 4.2.5 Rom ke sd card. Rename jadi update.zip
3. Masuk recovery mode.
4. Wipe data /factory reset
5. apply .zip spl nya
6. Reboot lalu dia balik lagi recovery mode.
7. Apply update.zip (flashing cyan rom)
8. Reboot

Nah.. Stuck at G1 screen dah.. Agak keringet dingin.. Akhirnya lepas batre. 
Trus pasang lagi, coba masuk ke recovery mode, berhasil.  

saya kira gagal kan update spl nya. Check di fastboot mode ternyata udah 
1.33.2005.

Saya power off dan masuk ke recovery mode. Wipe data trus flashing cyan 4.2.5 
lagi.

Sekarang sudah 5 menitan stuck di G1 screen lagi, is it normal ?

Mending restore nandroid back up atau tunggu dulu yah ?

  Barusan coba install google map , ikutin panduan di xda :

  Langkah-langkahnya : 

  1. Un-Install google map yang standar ( sy pake rom cyanogenmod )

  perintahnya (pake adb) : 

adb remountadb shell find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name 
Maps.apk -deleteadb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps
  2. Download google map versi root di : 
http://ul.to/8xqruf/maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

  3. Copy file hasil download tadi ke folder ../tools

  4. Install pake adb : adb install -r maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

  5. Done


  Saya cobanya masih di sekitar daerah Bekasi, dan lumayan akurat kok ...

Punya gua Magic sih, tapi urusan batre boros itu biasanya awal2 pemakaian.
Maksudnya lagi seneng2nya ngulik, pencet sana/i, ktiduran masih genggam
android.
Yg bikin boros itu ya narik2 data (apalagi 3G) sama LCD nyala terus.
Lama2 kalo udah puas, akhirnya pemakaian Android jd normal2 aja (daily use
lah) dan batre bisa tahan 1/5 sampe 2 hari.
Dulu jg pengen ganti batre hi cap, tp setelahnya diurungkan.
Cukup kok batrenya.

Sejak beberapa hari lalu dah bisa lagi nih buat outside US..

How to :
Buang gmaps yg ada 

1. adb remount adb shell find /system /data -name \*goog adb 

2. uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps

3. Download http://ul.to/8xqruf/maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk (letakan 
file trsebut di folder yg sama dgn adb yah..)

4. Install the new file adb install -r maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

Barusan coba install google map , ikutin panduan di xda :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583123 , ternyata berhasil
lhoo ..

Langkah-langkahnya :

1. Un-Install google map yang standar ( sy pake rom cyanogenmod )

perintahnya (pake adb) :

adb remount
adb shell find /system /data -name \*google\*maps.apk\* -o -name
Maps.apk -delete
adb uninstall com.google.android.apps.maps


2. Download google map versi root di :
http://ul.to/8xqruf/maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

3. Copy file hasil download tadi ke folder ../tools

4. Install pake adb : adb install -r maps3.3.1-by-directions-root-2.apk

5. Done


Saya cobanya masih di sekitar daerah Bekasi, dan lumayan akurat kok ...
