fyi.. Back in January, the Android 8.1 update left several Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL owners unable to swipe up on the lock screen so that they could enter their PIN code. Now, it appears as though the February security update also was disseminated with unwanted side effects. On Reddit and Google's Pixel User Community website, there are several complaints from Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users about their handset overheating. Additionally, since installing the update, some Pixel 2/2 XL owners say that they are experiencing lower than usual battery life on their units.
