Actually replying to spam just informs the spammers they have good addresses...plus since the e-mailed the list, they don't have your individual e-mail addresses, but they will if you respond to them. -Scot Mc Pherson -N2UPA -RF Engineer -ClearAccess Communications -http://www.clearaccess.net -mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: Betsy Brennan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 3:16 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: "Big 5" Company SPAMMING [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Regards, > > David Fann > eJobs, Inc. > [EMAIL PROTECTED] How about this one? Well, so far today I've already had at leeast 3-4 people who complained to the Listserv administrator (me) about a list spamming them, when they didn't understand it's a spammer nailing their list. Obviously, I wasn't caffienated enough to distinguish the troll from my user community. ;) -- Valdis Kletnieks Operating Systems Analyst Virginia Tech PGP signature

Also, is ICMP feature on the FW-1 open? You can see it from logs of FW. >PROBLEM >1) My mail server is on the Local-net From the firewall i cannot ping the mail server Private IP address (192.168.xx.xx), but i can ping >the network interface connected to the local-net on the firewall machine . i cannot even ping the Public IP address which i have map to the mail-srv. Because when the FW-1 has ping, FW send this request to the outside because of NAT. If your FW is on UNIX or Linux you can scan this situation with "tcpdump". If you want to use NAT. You should create an "Address-range" into the FW-1 that contains all of your clients. and write appropriate rule. Best regards.. Ilker G.
