The XML page cannot be displayed

2011-05-20 Thread t.petch
The IANA website has moved on and seems to have left my PC behind.

Accessing the registries I get
"
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet.
Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

System does not support the specified encoding. Error processing resource
'http://www.iana.org/assignments/snmp-number-spaces/snmp-number-spaces.xml'.
Line 1, Position 39

"

Anyone else found a way round this short of upgrading their PC?

In passing, I note that the main page ends with
https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf

To support the "ASCII" encoding? About time.

Fun aside, "ASCII" is the wrong encoding to declare, either use
"US-ASCII", or just drop the declaration (the default being the right
thing anyway).

...

Out of curiosity: what's your user agent?

The intent is to use UTF-8. We'll fix that.

Thanks,

Internet Explorer 6 !

Which, for those keeping score at home, has been deprecated by its vendor.
