NomCom 2023 Call for Nominations for SEC AD
All, This starts a 6 week call for nominations for the position of SEC Area Director. This is a replacement for Roman Danyliw, who has been selected by the NomCom for IETF Chair. Nominations can be made here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/nomcom/2023/nominate/ Alternatively, send me an email that identifies the person, that this is for the SEC AD role, and whether you would like to keep your nomination confidential. You can nominate yourself. The deadline for nominations is 2024-02-02 (any time on earth). The NomCom will follow the variation to the mid-term vacancy process that was agreed previously (see [1] and [2]). Specifically, the variation is that advance notice of a vacancy means that the short six week process can be extended as long as the confirmation occurs prior to the vacancy. Nominees should be aware that as the vacancy is for exactly one year, the term for this position is one year; see Section 3.5 of RFC 8713 [3]. NomCom 2023 IESG Selections
All, The NomCom is pleased to announce a slate of IESG members. The following have been confirmed by the IAB and will join the IESG in March. Roman Danyliw for a two year term as IETF Chair and GEN Area Director Orie Steele for a two year term as ART Area Director Murray Kucherawy for a one year term as ART Area Director Erik Kline as INT Area Director Mahesh Jethanandani as OPS Area Director Gunter Van de Velde as RTG Area Director Paul Wouters as SEC Area Director They will join the continuing members from the IESG: https://www.ietf.org/about/groups/iesg/members/ The NomCom thanks the new and returning IESG members for being willing to serve, those leaving the IESG this time around, and the community for their support of the selection process. The selection of Roman for IETF Chair means that the NomCom has not completed its tasks. Roman's selection leaves a vacancy for SEC Area Director that the NomCom now needs to fill.
