New Non-WG Mailing List: aidc (Data Center Networking for AI Clusters)
A new IETF non-working group email list has been created. List address: a...@ietf.org Archive: https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/browse/aidc/ To subscribe: https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/aidc Purpose: There has been a significant rise in the popularity of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, leading to the design of data centers specifically tailored for large-scale AI model training. These advanced networks impose unique requirements for network topologies and interconnecting technologies. The goal of this mailing list is to provide a discussion forum for new technologies within large-scale data centers, especially in the context of AI model training and related applications. We want to identify challenges and requirements associated with these advanced data center networks, as well as to explore new research and standardization opportunities. This list belongs IETF area: Routing Area For additional information, please contact the list administrators. ___ IETF-Announce mailing list IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce

Updates will be reflected on the web versions of the agenda. Details about meeting registration, venue and hotels, and more are available at: https://www.ietf.org/how/meetings/119/ ## Public Side Meetings IETF participants occasionally organize side meetings around IETF meetings to discuss topics of interest to some portion of the IETF community. For more information, see: https://wiki.ietf.org/meeting/119/sidemeetings Even if you have already registered for IETF 119, don’t forget to register for these exciting IETF 119 events: ## IETF Hackathon: 16-17 March https://www.ietf.org/how/runningcode/hackathons/119-hackathon/ IETF Hackathons are where developers and subject matter experts discuss, collaborate, and develop utilities, ideas, sample code and solutions that show practical implementations of IETF standards. Onsite signup: https://registration.ietf.org/119/new/hackathon_onsite/ Remote signup: https://registration.ietf.org/119/new/hackathon_remote/ More information: Keep up to date by subscribing to: https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/hackathon ## IETF Code Sprint: 16 March IETF Code Sprints, organized by the IETF Tools Team, bring together volunteers from the IETF community to work on code for the IETF Datatracker, mailing lists, and other tools used by the IETF community. More information and signup information is available at: https://notes.ietf.org/notes-ietf-119-tools ## Morning Breaks IETF 119 morning breaks will provide beverages, fruit and light pastries. In some locations we have historically provided continental breakfast; however, we have observed that they are under-utilized and result in excessive food waste. We encourage you to take advantage of the well priced and robust buffet options at the IETF hotels. In addition to the hotel breakfasts, we have also collected some nearby breakfast options within walking distance of the venue: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1RqgEq81PFPwaCrwApV1jSdq8Xo86cW0=sharing ___ IETF-Announce mailing list IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
Protocol Action: 'Common YANG Data Types for Layer 1 Networks' to Proposed Standard (draft-ietf-ccamp-layer1-types-18.txt)
The IESG has approved the following document: - 'Common YANG Data Types for Layer 1 Networks' (draft-ietf-ccamp-layer1-types-18.txt) as Proposed Standard This document is the product of the Common Control and Measurement Plane Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Jim Guichard, Andrew Alston, John Scudder and Roman Danyliw. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-ccamp-layer1-types/ Technical Summary This document defines a collection of common data types and groupings in the YANG data modeling language for use with layer 1 networks. These derived common types and groupings are intended to be imported by modules that specify OTN networks, such as topology, tunnel, client signal adaptation and service. Working Group Summary Was there anything in the WG process that is worth noting? For example, was there controversy about particular points or were there decisions where the consensus was particularly rough? There was nothing of significance to report about the WG processes to develop this document. Document Quality The authors have not reported specific vendor implementations. However, several research papers have reference the proposed standard and proof of concepts, early implementations look likely. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Daniel King. The Responsible Area Director is Roman Danyliw. ___ IETF-Announce mailing list IETF-Announce@ietf.org https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-announce
