Technical Summary

   eBPF (which is no longer an acronym for anything), also commonly
   referred to as BPF, is a technology with origins in the Linux kernel
   that can run untrusted programs in a privileged context such as an
   operating system kernel.  This document specifies the BPF instruction
   set architecture (ISA).

Working Group Summary

   Nothing in the WG process that is worth noting. The ISA is an existing
   body of work with numerous implementations. Formalising aspects for
   IETF publication and structure of IANA registries were key topics.

Document Quality

   The eBPF ISA has numerous implementations and has been in active use
   on the Internet, within data centers, and within mobile phones for
   several years.

   The Document Shepherd for this document is David Vernet. The Responsible
   Area Director is Erik Kline.
