Chris, You assessment was spot on. The energy shifts (and a few other things) were being handled incorrectly in the difference spectrum. The next release of Demeter will fix that problem. The difference spectrum page in Athena will still only have limited functionality, but at least what it has should work correctly. If it helps to diagnose and fix the bug, I just applied the E shifts found after reference calibration to the difference spectra and it fixed the problem. thanks for the quick response, Chris On Wed, Apr 11, 2012 at 11:36 AM, Ravel, Bruce wrote: > > Hi Chris, > > Thanks for the bug report -- that is clearly a problem. Hi Chris, Thanks for the bug report -- that is clearly a problem. I'll look into it and get back to you. I chose difference spectrum in norm mu(E) in the Demeter pull down menu. I set the standard and chose another spectrum. Plotting both the difference and spectra gives me the image attached. Is the difference shifted significantly to lower energy? If so, why does it change its energy scale relative to the plotted spectra? Is there a setting I can change or could this be a small bug?
