[fsug-tvm] Gnome Power Manager not installed corectly
HI, Plz anyone help me out of this. I am using Ubuntu Lucid Lynx. I tried to download some packages and it didnot install correctly. So, everytime i tried to login, i got a pop up window saying Gnome Power Manager not installed correctly, please contact administrator. I tried the recovery and all such things available but couldnt help it. I had some important documents saved in my linux partition which i wanted urgently. So i thought of using the terminal window and then mounting a FAT32 partition by editing the 'fstab' as given in the UBUNTU help forums and then i copied the required documents onto my FAT32 partition. But unfortunately i forgot to unmount the partition as well as forgot the editing i had done in the fstab. Now, i donot have any access to my ubuntu. Plz help out. -- "Freedom is the only law". Try, Don't using vlc from the repo, but download the tarball. When compiling pass the *--enable-run-as-root* flag to *./configure* and vlc should be able to run as root.
