The old site http://www.ilug-tvm.org/ was from that time. With the name change, it was decided to change the site to new domain http://fsug-tvm.org/ . However, the old domain was never abandoned and the new one was never completed. The new website http://fsug-tvm.org/ was delayed because there was no one to work on it. Now there is a good news that the site is underconstruction by an Intern and two MSc project students will be able to release in a few days. The project students are there till August so any bugs can also be fixed after release. I havent see it too, but Im sure that it will cater all the current problems. So be ready to report bugs and suggestions. :D Anyway, as for our new web site, I think that any attempt to replace this google group would be in vain. The mini-toaster was the idea of sooraj kenoth and he has integrated LCD+UPS+WIFI-ROUTER into the CPU. This toaster will work as a apt-cacher,ubuntu netboot installer as well as burning CD/DVDs. Gutenprint (formerly Gimp-Print) is a collection of free software printer drivers for use with UNIX spooling systems, such as CUPS, lpr and LPRng. [fsug-tvm] Reinstalling Grub in Karmic Koala (9.10) which has grub-2
Since Grub-2 is way too different then legacy Grub so is the way of reinstalling it. It is a general problem after installing new windows or any other OS over pre-installed Ubuntu that grub is taken over by windows master boot record and which results in unavailability of any method by which we can boot installed Ubuntu. A school teacher cum librarian requested me to install Linux in his system. He need a virus free user friendly non Microsoft OS. I havent encountered any problem with 9.10 fresh installation. Im using Linux Mint 8 RC, it has many small small scripts and gui tools which a windows user will look for when migrated to, also from Mint 7 they have given the DE a vista theme feel and Mint menu will make them looks familiar too.
