thanks danjay for answering my question.That issue was solved.but the main 
problem with my debian is it is generating logs of huge volume and i am 
running out of space often as allocated space for /var/logs become 100%. So 
every time i have to manually delete the /var/logs to make my system 
function normally.Any suggestion to fix this issue.

Have you tried updating to the latest kernel? There used to be some
Linux kernel regression that caused higher power usage. If I remember
right, it will be fully fixed in a future release only.

add pcie_aspm=force i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
in /etc/default/grub
then run
sudo updat-grub

restart
you will get your battery life back
but there is a catch, it will affect your graphic capabilities a
little bit.
i didnt try latest kernel, so cant comment on that.

[fsug-tvm] installation of mint9

hi guyz i have downloaded the linux mint9 iso dvd image from the mint
website.Then i burned it in to the dvd.
but when iam trying to boot it 
the boot option comes up like(auto boot in 5secs.)
after 5 secs it starts another screen which includes
loading isolinux
loading initlinux or something like that...
then
ready
after that the screen goes nd black screen appears nd the black screen
remains forever nd nothing comes after that...

so i have searched in the google about this nd they asked me to check
the md5sum of the original iso image from the website nd compare it
with the dowloaded one
then i compared it .
but both are the same
and it indicates that no corruption occured on downloading..

so what is actually the problem?
now u will say that the way i burned the image to dvd is wrong
but i have already burned 3 dvd's of the same iso image
using(k3b,brasero) and in all cases the burning was 100% succes with
no error messages

so what can i do with all those dvd's??
the error case is same for all three dvd's (when trying to boot)

yesterday i had windows XP and ubuntu..but my windows got stuck with
virus..or something and it got hanged.. so i reinstalled windows on c
drive..after that when i booted i couldnt see the os menu option and so i
couldnt get into ubuntu and it directly booted intio XP..how can i get my

it is my pleasure to here such good comments on the  seminar.. i sincerely
thank renjith sir  for his initiative to conduct such a seminar and   *Dr.

Pramode http://pramode.net/ Sir *‘Java In Action- With Lego MindStorm
NXT - Robot’ *by *Mr. David John*Dr V sasikumar.. gave really good
example that without the iniative of money many  good things can be done as
there are about good solid articles of about 2.5 million on wikepedia.. and
i was really thrilled by the shakti sirs  words  that after you attain a
certain voltaged
on gaining knoweldge you will feel  the pleasure and derive the enthusiasum
to gain more and will never look back..  and should certainly thank the
sasikumar sirs criticism on the words that  some where someone proved it
that time is equal to money...and David John sir talking on insects brain
that it has got zero brain that was really an amazing new idea for me.. and
how insects uses the 8 stimulus to lead there life .. and how you can
implement such actions in a micro controller ... and ..Promode sirs ..
demonstration  on Hacking an arm processor was a fine one..every audience
there was too enthusiasic and really i am sure that it was a wonderful
workshop.. and i thank every one who attended the seminar and made it a
grand success and last but not the least i thank our principals enthusiasm
and guidence to conduct such a seminar...

i have installed ubuntu 8.01 on my laptop.. and i have got about the 6
dvd of repositories for it which i have burned from zyxware.. could any one
help me how to add those repositories.. what should i do after i put those
dvds in my laps dvd drive thanx in advance..

that is a fine idea.. never miss out to show that it is possible to play
games as  in windows (such as star wars) even in linux using wine ...
because most childrens use computers to play games during their vaccation
time.. and once they start using it they will find GNU/Linux attractive
..and mention about the fact the linux is less affected by virus..

that error i got a long time ago..
but now i am getting the error like this
and i tried out by terminal so i got the error as ..

hi,
  I am using Ubundu 8.04 . whenever i try to install audacity using synaptic
package manager(after downloading packages) the system pops up a window
saying that this application could not be installed since it is conflicting
with other existing libraries. Can any one please help me to fix this
problem .. Thanx in advance
