[fsug-tvm] NEW UBUNTU ADVERT NEEDS YOUR VOICE – LI TERALLY!
Ever wanted to help promote Ubuntu? Well now’s your chance! The Ubuntu Ads project are launching a new advert, one that requires your voice to be heard – literally! Ddorda from the aforementioned Ads team wants readers with a video camera/webcam mic to record the message below, save it and then wing it over to the provided e-mail. The clips will then pass through an awesome-o-matic before being collated into one super awesome Ubuntu advert. What you need to say Clear your throat and make sure you’re visible in frame and then record yourself saying this sentence in your native tongue (be that English, Swedish, Fnark or whatever): - My name is [YOUR NAME] and I use Ubuntu! Once you’ve recorded that and are satisfied send it to ubuntuadve...@gmail.com with your name and what language you spoke in the clip. [fsug-tvm] Re: Upgrading to Lucid
Sorry this one will help with iso image. Use this method if the system being upgraded is not connected to the Internet. 1. If the ISO file is on the computer to be upgraded, you could avoid wasting a CD by mounting the ISO as a drive with a command like: sudo mount -o loop ~/Desktop/ubuntu-10.04-alternate- i386.iso /media/cdrom0 2. A dialog will be displayed offering you the opportunity to upgrade using that CD. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. If the upgrade dialog is not displayed for any reason, you may also run the following command using Alt+F2: gksu sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade Or in Kubuntu run the following command using Alt+F2: kdesudo sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade On May 19, 10:45 am, srinath mail2srina...@gmail.com wrote: ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 http://www.unixmen.com/linux-tutorials/934-how-to-upgrade-to-ubuntu-1... hope it helps.
