It suggests that everything is on flat bus and any machine can by pass your proxy server defeating the purpose of the proxy server. However, IMO, what are trying to do can be done but readup on networking fundae and you should be on your way. ipaliasing? bridge-utils with tap0 and tap1? virtual lan?
