[Ilugc] OAOD (tkcvs)

2010-05-24 Thread Dhastha Gheer
Application: tkcvs

What is it:

TkCVS is a Tk based graphical interface to the CVS and Subversion
version control systems. For CVS, it includes facilities for
roviding "user friendly" names to modules and directories within the
repository, and provides a facility to interactively browse the
repository looking for modules and directories.

Features:

# File and directory browser, with optional display of hidden files,
and display of the current directory's location within
the CVS tree.

# Push-button based check-in / check-out of CVS modules. Ability to
add and delete files from the repository also using push
buttons.

# Module tree browser, and reports showing the structure of the CVS
modules tree. Individual modules or entire directory trees
may be checked out using the browser.

# Updating of files from the repository when they change.

# Tagging and branching of files from the file browser, and tagging
and branching of modules from the module browser.

# Exporting a CVS module or directory from the repository for delivery off-site.

# Creation of patch files between two releases of a module, or between
a release and the current (head) version.

# Viewing of diff and status listings for currently checked out modules.

When I was building bots I got different components from different places -
and this seemed to be the only place where I could get a particular servo
motor that I required. I don't know how it is these days but they were based
in IIT Bombay and would ship it to one's address and do a good job of it.
This was 2-3 years ago.

It's worth checking out in any case.

[Ilugc] [OT] Chennai DevCamp

2010-05-24 Thread Balaji Damodaran
Hi all,

I'm representing ThoughtWorks[1] developers from Chennai. We are
planning to host a BarCamp style unconference specifically targeting
the developer community called the DevCamp[2]. This will be first time
a DevCamp is hosted in Chennai (to our knowledge). The tentative date
is set to July, 10 - 2010. ThoughtWorks is willing to sponsor the
space to host the event and the much needed WiFi connectivity. The
registration and participation is free of cost.

We as developers want to stay true to the spirit of DevCamp and we're
reaching out to you - the Chennai developer community for organizing
and coordinating the event (right from creating a logo for the event,
a twitter account etc.,) and making it a success. There is a wiki[3]
page setup for more information.

If you have an idea to give a session/presentation or willing to
volunteer to organize the event please reply to this mail and join the
wiki[3] and subscribe to the Google group[4] for general announcements
and discussions.

We want this to be a (un)conference of some of the best developers and
hackers in and around Chennai with your help and support.

Thanks,
Balaji

[1] - http://www.thoughtworks.com
[2] - unconference is a participant driven conference, where right
from the choice of sessions to schedule of the sessions is driven by
the participants and not through a central body of 'organizers'.

You are not the first guy to ask this I am sure. ;)

I dunno the answer. I have myself wanted it.

I don't know if it is possible in any OS.

You only get kernel messages in dmesg.

One possibility is pressing the break key while booting...

I want to know where can I find the logs of the user space boot scripts.
I'm not looking for the kernel logs, instead I need the output of all
the daemons
that start during system startup.

I'm using CentOS 5.4.
