[Ilugc] Free and Open Source Licenses

2011-03-06 Thread Kumaran R
Hi,

As I've already told in the January meeting, my dad wants to do more in
FOSS. I suggested that he could become an advocate and legal advisor for FOSS
projects. As he is interested in Intellectual Property rights, he accepted that
he'd help us. I've asked him to read the GPL, which he has done. But, now he
needs more resources to fully understand the community, and the bazaar system
of development, that FOSS uses. I also need materials explaining about CVS, and
the problems faced during combinig of different licenses.

I thought he should get in touch with SFLC, India, what do you think about
that?

P.S: You can contact him at radhakrishnan at maasu dot in. He's a passive
member of the mailing list too.

 With Regards,

Which lab manual are you talking about? The one started at MIT yesterday is
not completed and I think this we shall discuss the corrections
off-the-list, as it will be making no sense to those who are not involved in
the manual preparation. After completing it, we can publish it for public
review and corrections.

I can't understand what you intend to ask. Pls rephrase it more clearly.

Nice work; especially adding the options to register using various accounts
is nice and will give a good user experience :)

I would like to suggest some changes related to making a symposium website,
as I have done a few for my college.

After logging in, the sidebar shows 'Site admin', but a student registering
for a symposium will have no need to visit the admin page. You can edit the
sidebar file of your theme to change it. This is just a suggestion; it's
completely your choice.

Note that most of the pages lack web semantics. For example the headings of
pages are simply highlighted using CSS and they are not heading elements
(, and so on). Making your pages semantic will yield better search
results in search engines.
Also the domain name can be chosen such that it remains the same for all
years. For each year you can archive the site after the fest is over and you
can create a new landing page for next year. This also has to do with
improving your search results.

i do not know this will make a business sense to him to begin with . Ask him
to start reading http://www.groklaw.net/ .

yes this is one way , but there agenda is something which we need to revisit
, which will happen in due course of time in the meantime ask him to learn
as much as about the community by going to the meetings etc..

he can also advice people on the acts like Right to information etc.. once
he starts believing may be he can become an RTI activist himself , yes this
can be a good career option apart from his regular work .

[Ilugc] [OT] Looking for Wi-Fi AP with WPA2 Enterprise option

2011-03-06 Thread Arun Khan
I am looking for a WiFi AP that will connect to a RADIUS server for
user authentication (802.1X)

In the AP's settings, this shows up as WPA2 Enterprise or similar verbiage.

I have an old Linksys WRT54GS ver. 6 that has this feature. I am
looking a model that is currently available in India.

Please mention brand/model if you know of any AP that supports WPA2 Enterprise.

TIA,
