[Ilugc] Centos 6.0 64 bit DVD

2011-10-24 Thread G S Madhusudan
Does anyone know where I can get one in Chennai ?
Centos 64 bit seems a trifle hard to find and the IIT
mirror seems to be down.

These are a couple of very fast mirrors for most distros (they are
also in close sync with the parent upstream)

Dear FOSSouls,

I have just come across an interesting online FOSS compiler and interpreter
at 'codepad.org' for any user (even without a login).

Just copy paste your code and it shows output.Of course, it needs
improvements but gives nice taste of compiling in the cloud.

Compiler and Interpreter versions used -

*C*: gcc 4.1.2
flags: -O -fmessage-length=0 -fno-merge-constants -fstrict-aliasing
-fstack-protector-all

*C++*: g++ 4.1.2
flags: -O -std=c++98 -pedantic-errors -Wfatal-errors -Werror -Wall -Wextra
-Wno-missing-field-initializers -Wwrite-strings -Wno-deprecated -Wno-unused
-Wno-non-virtual-dtor -Wno-variadic-macros -fmessage-length=0
-ftemplate-depth-128 -fno-merge-constants -fno-nonansi-builtins
-fno-gnu-keywords -fno-elide-constructors -fstrict-aliasing
-fstack-protector-all -Winvalid-pch

*D*: Digital Mars D Compiler v1.026

*Haskell*: Hugs, September 2006
flags: -98

*Lua*: Lua 5.1.3

*OCaml*: Objective Caml version 3.10.1

*PHP*: PHP 5.2.5

*Perl*: Perl v5.8.0

2011-10-24 Thread Prasanna Venkadesh
Dear Luggies,

A friend of mine has this following query and he needs answer from our
community, Please suggest him and here is his query within quotes:

i need to use software for drafting, 3D modelling and rendering then more
importantly Analysis and designs( Column load carrying capacity etc.). These
are the softwares which are used in windows (Auto cadd - drafting, 3D
modeling - REVIT/3DS max, structural analysis - STAAD PRO).. As i use
linuxi couldn't use those and am searching for the equivalent
softwares in
linux.

I have already shown him QCAD, SweetHome3D and am not sure about Blender. He

I haven't used any of these tools, but from the experience of my friends,
QCad is good for drafting. Also they use OpenFoam for analysis of fluid
dynamics and such stuff (I'm not sure if that's what your friend needs).

HTH :-)
