[Ilugc] Why India Should Use Open-Source Software

2013-04-08 Thread Ganesha Computes
Hello,

I have compiled an outline, advocating the use of Open-Source Software.
This list could be used by anyone wishing to make a case for Open-Source
Software.
You might not agree with all of it, but I would like to hear your views.

Please help me improve this further:

Thanks,

sankarshan, thanks for the link!

While creating a national Linux distribution is an expensive and complex
task, IMHO the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
It's hard, not impossible!

Mohan R,

Thanks for your very educational response!
I have a small question. Mohan, or anyone else, please feel free to answer.
Some programs expect an argument on the command line. Others read from
whatever stream is piped into them.
What's the difference between?

cat foo.txt

cat foo.txt

Cheers,

Kumar,

I believe Google customizes the search results for each user based on
their profile, search history, and the contents of their mailbox.

Cheers,

- Ashwin.

With Google Search, you are not the customer, you are the product.
Google stores all kinds of data about you and mines it to benefit
their real customers.

Google Search is a product that is provided to you by a company ie Google.
If you don't like it, you can switch to another product by a different
 company.
