[Ilugc] Help regarding on Ubuntu free softwares installation
Hi, I am using Ubuntu 9.10V. I tried to install the free softwares, present in the Ubutu software center. But it showing error like Requires installation of untrusted packages The action would require the installation of packages from not authenticated sources.. Even last week, it worked properly. But not now. Need your help to overcome this prob. Waiting for your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance. [Ilugc] Query on Gromacs Installation
Dear friends, I am using Ubuntu 9.10. I want to work on Gromacs. I have a query on installing the Gromacs on ubuntu. How to choose the Gromacs version to be install in Ubuntu? Is any special Gromacs versions available for ubuntu? And what is the purpose to install FFTW? Shall i use the latest version of FFTW to install? Should the versions of FFTW and Gromacs be the same? (Like FFTW 3.2.2 V and Gromacs 3.2.2V) Please anybody help me to install as early as possible. Waiting for your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance. [Ilugc] how to run a software from terminal
Hi, I had a doubt about how to run a software from terminal itself. I want to run autodock. where should i install it? at root account or in my account? I tried for pymol.I installed pymol viewer in my account and copied the executable file to user/local/bin. Eventhough i cant run from terminal. Could anybody help me to sort out this problem. Dear Friends, I have installed CentOS 5.4v in my pc. ( Along with Windows XP - Dual Boot ) After installation i cant access internet, even an ethernet card is available. I dont know to do to make internet connection.(Same problem i had faced while i installed RedHat) Please give me suggestions to overcome this problem. Waiting for your valuable reply. ya, its connected with cable. While i am using the windows, i can able to browse the internet. but on Linux, i cant access. I dont know the real fault. Please help me. Can you tell how to find the ip? How can i ping the router and setup nameserver? First of all, I am fresher to use the linux platform. So only i cant answer your queries. But i am a good learner. After few supporting words, few of them came forward, and started installing the forum software. and they successfully did it. After installing the forum, i asked other members to try accessing the forum from other machines.. this created an interest in them.. i told them, how we can effectively discuss about project ideas, using this forum software within college lab intranet.. They tried posting few posts in the forum and got very much interested.. The demo went for around half-an hour, and i have to leave then.. i told the students that they can easily do a simple project for their academic project in web technology itself.. I dont know how far they had understood all these.. But one point i was noticed.. without making the students do it practically, all our seminars tends to be fruitless.. Some students later commented that they are understanding ravi jaya's seminar only now.. I wish, we can identify some practical projects for the students and then make them learn open source by doing that project with our guidance...
