You need an alternative to MySQL NDB cluster or MySQL Cluster Manger NDB. NDB Cluster is more enterprise oriented. If you need an HA cluster in MySQL please try out Galera Cluster for MySQL. I have tried out Galera Cluster. But for Critical webapplication, galera is not working well. I am getting more deadlock conditions. But ndb is good and the response time is also good. Hi, How to add wvdail in bootup. I have a datacard connected to a machine, once the machine boots it should automatically connect to the internet via datacard. I tried configuring defaults in wvdial.conf and added auto ppp0 iface ppp0 inet wvdial in /etc/network/interfaces not while restarting network i am not getting the connections. So how to achieve this. Hi all, I am trying to create a cronjob which calls hwinfo which echoes out to a txt file. If i run the code direclty from konsole its working but the same doesnt work in cron. When i open the file it shows its empty. My cronjob is * * * * * hwinfo --short hardware if i read /var/log/message it shows that the command gets executed every minute but its not echoing any data out. I am trying to unmount the usb device and make it mount only when root mount it. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 1. I disabled automounting using gconf-editor. 2. I made the /media drive with read permission even then the usb gets mounted, but the drive is not visible. 3. I black listed the usbstorage module, then it is not even attempting to find the device. Here is my requirement, I am developing an application that manages external drives. When a user plugs any usb storage, it prompts the administrator ie the server. Only the administrator can mount the device either in read mode or in write mode. I was successfull in alerting the administrator but still fails in mounting. By disabling automount and using the step 2. I can make the device cant be seen but not mount. My friends company has been planning to migrate to linux completely. They have around 800 employees. They are using Microsoft AD for authentication. As we know AD is costly and closed. I preferred him to use OpenDs. Now we have a problem in migration those used. We planned to export schemas in LDIF and tried to import to Opends. [Ilugc] Usb Script.
Is there any way to run a script when a usb is plugged into the system. I am not asking about autorun. Whenever a usb is attempting to get mounted i need to get an notification to mail or something else. Similar to that of PAM any option is available to USB devices. One of my friends concern is planning to migrate to Ubuntu fully. They need the following options 1. A Master os should be capable of the following things a. Monitoring the remote PC. ie able to see client window and control it. b. Install packages from server. ie something like synaptic to install packages on client. c. Disable and Enable remote USB devices. I need some help in finding the tools which perform the action below As far now i found iTalc for client desktop monitoring But i am not able to find any solutions for b, c. To disable pendrive, we can change permission of media drive or even we can disable usb driver but how can we do this in remote. I need an automated tool for these. Hi I am using Benq v920 18.5 monitor. When i am booting it tells 1366x76 as the resolution. But i am not able to set it. Also mention ideo chipset. I am presuming the connection is DSUB-15 (analog VGA connector). Mine is Intel Dualcore processor and DG41WV motherboard. Make sure your cable is good and connected tight at both ends. It is connected properly and i rechecked it. The newer Xorg do an autodetect and seem to override xorg.conf if it exists (from my observation). You mention you have reconfigured xorg in your OP. Can you tell us what you reconfigured. Did you set the ModeLines manually? I did Xorg :1 -configure to create xorg.conf file and copied to /etc/X11 directory.
