It seems that ilugc is a victim of its own success, as the only thriving
lug in India, it has become the national lug, attracting linux
enthusiasts from all over India and perhaps should change its name to
just plain ilug, drop the -C, no more north-south east-west divide
necessary.

Uday made excellent points, so to counteract them let me sign off with...

The big deal is not that you said Namaste, but that you don't seem to
get the point of the discussion. You chose to defend yourself with an
imposing message, and when its implications are pointed out to you,
you get personal and hurtle insults. Just imagine, if someone from
Chennai goes to a lug in a different state and greets everyone with
'Vanakkam' and later says it is Indian culture, it is unlikely that
they will be patted on the back. It is not Indian culture, but a Tamil

If your modem and router are two different devices, you might have to
do it in both of them. If you have Raspbian installed, you could set a
static ip to your Pi (192.168.1.100 for example). Then if you want to
forward ssh port, you could set external port 22, internal port 22 and
host 192.168.1.100. Some modems take a port range, just set 22 for
both start and end. For more security, you could use a non-standard
external port, like 1234.

Not sure what you mean by GUI access. OpenVPN doesn't have a free
webbased control panel. There is OpenVPN Access Server, but I guess
you have to pay for it, and I'm not sure if it is available for the
Pi. If you must have a web interface, you would have to find a
different VPN server. Or if you mean remote login to a network machine
through the vpn, that should be possible with something like X2Go or
FreeRDP.

Hi Sahil,

Your BSNL modem's setup page would have a port forwarding option
somewhere in the Firewall/NAT section. Connections coming to your modem
would reach your Raspberry Pi once you've added a mapping.

If I had to do it, I would prefer to use OpenVPN. This article should

Re: [Ilugc] [ilugc] Doubt in Git stashing

2015-08-24 Thread Sahasranaman M S
I think you will get an error only if there is a conflict between the two
branches. Let's say there are two files A and B in master. You create
branch new, change file A, then try to change branch, it would let you,
and carry over the changes to the checked out master branch.

But if you have changed file A in branch new, committed it, then changed it
again, then try to switch branch, it won't let you because the change
cannot be carried over because the two branches have different versions of
file A.
