Dear Friends, This is in response to the removing of Free Software from the latest tender of ELCOT in the name of so called cost-cutting to procure 0.9 Million laptops for students in Tamil Nadu.
The Free Software Foundation, Tamil Nadu strongly condemns this move and we have already initiated steps against it by working with sympathetic media groups and other like minded user groups & communities. This specific issue and the larger implementation of the laptop scheme are key to the spreading of Free Software in the State, especially among the younger generation.
