 There are various tools to recover deleted files like magicrescue
etc,search in your distributions package manager for recovery you get the
list of softwares able to recovery choose the software which is best for
your purpose and install it and do your recovery

I suggest that you use photorec. It should be available in the repos of
Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch etc. I warn you - DO NOT write any data on to that
partition which contained the deleted files as the memory blocks may be
over-written. It only recovers the data. Although it detects file types, no
metadata is recovered. So, you'll lose the file names, tags in music files,
etc. Also, if you are hunting for videos, you'll have no seek. I think it is
because the metadata is used to store the video length. VLC media player can
be used to fix these broken video streams.
