*Workshop 1:*
On behalf of ILUGC we ( myself and Baskar LinuXpert System ) conducted two
days workshop ( hands on session) on LAMP ( on 22nd and 23rd of this month)
at Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode. The particpants were from
Final year / Pre-final year CSE students. The students were very dynamic and
interactive I personelly felt great when I addressed them. The support from
the staff members were extraordinary and the hospitality was simply superb I
personelly convey my sincere thanks for all staff members for their
participation and for the kozhukattai too.
The sesson was planned for two days, the content what we convery as follows.
Day 1:
- Introduction to FOSS/Scripting Languages/Web Technology
- Introduction to MySQL
- PHP language Basics
- Database Programming with PHP and MySQL,
- The soup of web development, Authentication and Authorization
- Tips & Tracks of Linux Administration by Baskar.
Day 2: The Universal Scripting Language
- PERL form novice to intermediate
- PYTHON form novice to intermediate
- Contributing to different Open Source Project
Baskar helped us in setting up 30 Linux boxes with Fedora 11.
Last but not least I like thank Mr. Bala Chander and his friends for their
effort in organizing this workshop, thanks buddies.
*Workshop 2:*
On representing ILUGC, I had conducted another one day workshop on LAMP in
M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering, Karur on 24th of this month. The
participants were from final/pre-final year IT students this time. The
response from students and faculty members were good.
PHP, MYSQL, Apache httpd and Python were covered in the session as per their
requirement.
I convery sincere thanks to the organizers ( Mr. Vignesh, Mr. Sudhakar )
for their support and hospitality. I should thank Mr. Senthil Raja ( a
member of the list ), he is a key person behind this workshop.
Thanks to the list and I like to thank Rahul Sundram for the Fedora 10
DVD's. In the both the session Fedora 10 DVD's is distributed to the
paricipatants and to the staff members. Thanks every body for your time in
reading this mail.
