[Ilugc] List of FOSS clubs

2010-06-16 Thread Shrinivasan T
Friends.

We have been going to colleges for FOSS intro sessions,
LDDs, or any FOSS related Events for a longer time.

We need to find a way to follow them up and guide their
activities towards FOSS.

I hope we create FOSS club in each college we have some sessions.

Thinking on creating a list of FOSS clubs to follow up.

Please update here the details of any FOSS club you know.

FossClub Name,
College / Group
Mailing List
Web address

Thanks a lot.

Baskar,

Do you guide the students to create a lug or FOSS club
within themself when you reach so many colleges?

Like to know how you communicate to the
loads of students you meet in each college.

How do you follow the progress of their continuous
learning of linux?

Again thanks a lot for your service.

Myself has got involved in the FOSS promotional activitiy, mainly in
education since August 2003 when LinuXpert Systems was started (It was also
my aim that, the academic community should not be left behind in FOSS
development and keep trying to cultivate the culture of knowledge sharing
through Free softwares among the future young minds).

When I go for colleges, I request either the dept. / management authorities
to arrange for a introduction seminar about Linux/FOSS to create awareness
among the students and staffs and at end of the program, I used to
distribute GNU/Linux CD/DVDs to the students and ask them to try installing
in their computers. (I hope many students/staff members in this list know
this very well)

Re: [Ilugc] List of FOSS clubs

2010-06-25 Thread Victor Johnson
I am wondering why there are no other FOSS groups in colleges.

"ILUGC and NRCFOSS are going to many colleges and conducting events."
Heard this from a college lecturer.

How do we follow those college students further?

we can ask them to join ilugc list.
What if they are not joining in list?

It will be nice if we start a small group in those colleges
and guide them to grow in FOSS world.
