Himesh,
Reliance data card is mounted as a mass storage device in Ubuntu. people
says you can tweek it to get it working. But I dint succeed with that. But
you can install gnome dialler to make your card working with real speed.

I had fixed the same problem for my friend previously. I had searched google
and found out that you have to enable a module (using modprobe), but I have
forgotten the details. If you can specify the model number of your data
card, you will most likely find the answer in google itself.

I found this link for LG LXU 800 reliance netconnect data card. Hope you can
find out for your card similarly.

Had the same problem with Tata Photon + .

Did this and got it working:

1. Alt+F2 -> Enter nm-connection-editor and hit enter
2. Select 'Mobile Broadband' tab -> click add
3. Forward -> Select India -> Forward -> Select Tata Indicom photon plus ->
Forward -> Apply
4. Username and password are " internet "
5. Checked connect automatically and available to all users -> Apply
6. Restarted the system

Connected on next restart. Hope this works with Reliance too. The username
and password can be found out by looking into the windows application that
comes on a CD with the device.

Hope this is helpful.
P.S. The device is *also* detected as a mass storage device.

2010-02-19 Thread Rajeev Nair
Hi

There is nothing much to connect this card.Once plugged in, open the network
icon from the panel ,click on mobile broadband and select country india and
reliance netconnect.Then behind it a window opens(dont close the network
window) where you can enter username password given to you from reliance.

Its very simple indeed.
