[Ilugc] problem in yum

2009-08-24 Thread kesavan (K7)
hi guys
i have tried to install some packages by using yum
but its showed some error message
so guide me
how to solve this problem?

the error was
[r...@production ~]# yum
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

libelf.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.4.3 (#1, Jan 21 2009, 01:10:13)
[GCC 4.1.2 20071124 (Red Hat 4.1.2-42)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to
the yum faq at:
  http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq
