[ilugd] Problems with Open Office MySQL
Hi peeps!!! I am a newbie at OpenOffice and want to do some database connections using it. I have worked with VB so I have the idea that after creating forms v should create an .exe but what can be done in OO? I mean there is no .exe creation. How can I view navigate through a form. I have made connection to the dB but cant navigate through the data. I am using Windows 2000 Professional.. but since the issue is regarding Open Office I thought of posting it here. Someone suggested that I use MySQL instead of using Spreadsheets for databases hence my ordeal with MySQL. Did the things the way they were mentioned. But I am having a few probs. Hope you'll help me walk out of them. 1) C:\mysql\binmysqladmin version status proc It gives certain errors... * The connection is not via named pipes but localhost via TCP/IP * The process gives this result mysqladmin: process list failed; error: 'Access denied for user: @localhost' (Using password: NO)' 2) C:\mysql\bincmysqld --standalone Gives nothing but a cursor in the next line... the command can also not be aborted. 3) The databases can be created but I cannot work on them since it gives me ERROR: 1045 Regards Pd __ Do you Yahoo!? If you don't stay in this vicinity, you may still get the CDs provided you pick them up from my place. I have the following distributions: Debian 3.0 r1 (First 3 binaries) Redhat 9.0 (3 CDs) Redhat 8.0 (6 CDs) Mandrake 9.1 Mandrake 8.2 Knoppix 3.2 I will not be charging any money for the CDs provided you get your own blank CDs. Otherwise the charge will be for the price of CDs only. But please don't ask for all the distributions at the same time. Choose only the one that suits you the most and I will burn it for you. Re: [ilugd] [OT] 30 billion Winduhs crashes each year
I have my favourite linux pangs. Most of them I faced when I worked a system admin Ya ya. All of them are easily taken care of. 1) xfs unix/socket file getting deleted 2) fsck 3) printer page settings hardwired And linux tend to prefer higher end peripherals. This specially true for scanners. And I have seen quite a few kernel oops. Last one I attributed to overheating of CPU. Some of them are definately my in-competences. I also feel linux would'nt be half as interesting as it is now, if it would be as predictable as windows.
