Re: [ilugd] Custom Simputer Programs + Privacy issues
Um.. Am not sure if Mr. Srivastava realizes that posting his email address (not TOO consequential), AND his phone number on a public list is viable. All mails are archived, and there are tons of people out there just for these.. If anyone has to suggest phone numbers and/or other contact information, which is directed to a particular person, Please do it off the list. Just a thought.. If you've heard of it, but haven't tried it, Linux is a computer operating system istinguished from other operating systems (such as Windows or Mac OS) by the fact that it is avaliable freely for use and its source code is available to anyone, and anyone can contribute improvements to the system. It, like Windows, supports a GUI (Graphic User Interface) - meaning it's as easy to use, and less likely to crash. We will be conducting Linux-related talks and presentations in the Hamdard Archives Auditorium, on Saturday, 25th September, by some of our resident experts, and hopefully they will interest people who've already taken the plunge as well as those who are just about to. There'll be lots of demonstrations/talks throughout the day and plenty of opportunities to gain hands-on experience of different Linux distributions and applications for yourself. There is space outside the auditorium, which will be used for giving the demos. The demos and the talks will go on concurrently. We'll also be distributing Linux goodies at low or no cost. Remember, Linux Demo Day is not meant as The Inquisition for differing opinions, but rather a day for diffusion of knowledge. [ilugd] Linux Compatible Decent Internet
Hello All, I have recently come back to Delhi and I am looking around for a decent (preferably 128Kbps and above cable/dsl) internet connection in my area (Sarita Vihar) which is totally compatible with Linux. Anybody care to tell me whether I am dreaming or not ? If it is not totally compatible I am willing to get my hands a little dirty but not too much. If there is such a thing as mentioned above then somebody please enlighten me. -- Arindam Dey The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled. ___ ilugd mailinglist -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/
