Re: [ilugd] Mouse problem during installation of redhat

2005-03-27 Thread Ajay Mulwani
The installation runs successfully then. But i aborted the
installation as i does not want to run the system without mouse.

Let the installation complete... Now connect the mouse and run
redhat-config-mouse to configure. It is possible that during
installation anaconda in unable to detect the correct mouse type.

[ilugd] Mandrake-10.1- Gui not working

2005-03-27 Thread Rajesh Jha
I installed Mandrake 10.1 ( community edition) on my dual boot
machine. It did install properly but the x-server is not showing and
it starts only in the text mode. I tried reinstalling it couple of
times without any success. It continues to remain in text mode, though
installation proceeded perfectly well.
What could be the reason? I am unable to configure my x-server.
Help please.
Earlier, I had installed FC-3 on the same machine and it was coming
out with full GUI.

Re: [ilugd] Mandrake-10.1- Gui not working

2005-03-27 Thread Subhasis Ray
Hi,

Run the machine in runlevel3 and try running startx ... .then check
the xserver logs looks like a driver or config problem which
mandrake is not able to resolve on its own. Dump the error logs onto
this list, and I am sure some one will be able to help you out.

Cheers
