Hi,
Were the Students allowed to modify the products or make enhancements by making 
changes in the source code so generously provided by Micro$oft, and then 
redistributing them?
If the answer to that is in the negative, then this discussion is pointless. 
"Open Source" means exactly that. So giving away a "Closed Source" product for 
free doesnt exactly mean the same thing; moreover "Free" in FOSS isnt "Free as 
in Beer".
