Hi,
Want dual head setup but want to avoid proprietary driver cards (like
ATI, nVidia), then you can do that utilizing your on-board Intel
Graphics (chipset = 915G). All you need is a sDVO[1] card (Intel's
proprietary technology) which comes for USD 20 or similar. The sDVO
card requires a mobo with PCI-Express x16 slot and you can connect
your output device like Monitor (no VGA port, but DVI[2] AFAIK) and
TVs. The Xorg's 'intel' graphics drivers supports this[3], so be it
GNU/Linux or FreeBSD, you can enjoy dual head with FOSS drivers :) .
Also Intel has made available all technical documentation (required
for developing drivers on other OSs) related to its graphics chipsets,
available under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works
License[4].
Okay, I've not tried this setup yet, and also not sure if we'll get
sDVO cards in India.

Hi,
I'm planning to buy a 17 laptop for myself with as much open source
drivers as possible. I've decided on HP Compaq Presario A920E{E,N}
notebooks[1].
I want to know, if anyone is already running GNU/Linux or FreeBSD on
these laptop ? The things missing in the specification is the kind of
802.11b/g chipset. If anyone has any information, please point me to
that.
