 Dear shirish,

Dear Linuxlingam

no need to generate code. Just add static text.
Like you see in the credits of a movie or tv documentary, a magazine
colophon, a calendar, and anywhere else where authored works need
 credit, copyright, and licensed text.

Atm I have done some stuff so when hovers over the image, one knows
who the author of the image is as well as under what license as being suggested
on the list. Have also put up a static text, is it good enough.

Btw who is the author of the raised hands photo on the freed.in blog entry

http://freed.in/2009/news/inauguration-at-freedin2009.html

it's my pleasure to accept your thanks in advance for explaining all
this to you so persistently and patiently. For any other
 clarifications there is google.

:)

[ilugd] Is the community lacking documentation

2009-03-02 Thread anirudh shekhawat
Well i was just sitting idle and checking out random stuff And somehow
pidgin intrigued me, so i ventured into to get more stuff regarding
the implementation of various protocols as plugins etc etc..But as i
wanted to get more details of the working i just couldn't get it. So
then i asked at #pidgin but they too gaveup saying they dont have a
clear documentation of the development process..
Well the whole point is that is the linux community really lacking in
the documentation for the various projects done by the community and
if that is the case how bad is the situation right now..

Community participation is all about scratching your own itch, If you
see some documentation not done for some reason, More likely the
reason is nobody required so badly.

So , Best bet here is start one and people will join in. Take help
from irc and surely you will find your way.

2009-03-02 Thread Sudhanwa Jogalekar
Hi,

Talking about copyrighted material but a little OT.

On one of the ISO 27001 related mailing lists I am subscribed to,
where most of the people are auditors, copyrights are given very high
respect/priority.

If someone sends some copyrighted material without any proper
permissions from the author, he/she is out of the list immediately and
this is what the list admin says:

Goodbye copyright_violator.

If anyone else would like to leave the mailing list, simply unsubscribe
yourself or send me an email request if that's too hard: there's no need to
post copyright materials here without permission just to get yourself booted
off the list ...
