[Off-topic but very important] Thanks Raj for the posting: here are the details:- AB+ blood is needed for a patient of Leukemia (blood cancer) who is undergoing treatment (and something called platelet phareses?). The point is she needs fresh blood everyday for the next 20 days, from which platelets are seperated and tranfused i.e. blood from blood bank cannot be used. Please contact Mr. Sanjay at 9818530770. His mother Mrs. Kamal Bhagat is admitted at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer institute, Rohini ( a 5 minute walk from Rohini West Metro station) in ward 211. The hosp phone numbers are 27051011 and extension 2213. Also, she is not the only one with these reqmnts. there are other such patients with various blood groups.Please go to the site http://www.indianblooddonors.com and look up reqmnts and register yourself as a donor for future reqmnts. Hey all, It was the evening of the exciting event called LinuxAsia and the TUGDelhites had assembled at AshLyn's institute of national importance. Beer flowed and hype and music surrounded Rob`Limo' Miller. The Music emanated from a set of speakers connected to somebodys laptop in the adjacent room, and from a guitar silently standing in the corner. Both the items belong to me. Hi all, It's time for TuGGies (and non-Tuggies) in Delhi to meet. I propose we meet on 11th July Sunday (at Sarai, Rajpur road, Delhi). Here is a small brief with this mail. Your suggestions are invited for topics, format, time, venue of meet etc etc. exciting things are continuing to happen in the TeX world and we need to size them up. Omega, Metapost, ConText, fonts usage with TeX etc. There is the important issue of Unicode with TeX, and usage of TeX for indian language applications. Hi, I was also thrilled to see thiis news on the TUG list. By the way, The cartoonist Duanne Bibby is the creator of the original TeX and Metafont figures in Knuths Art of Computer Programming series which brought TeX to the world. Here's a snippet about the ceremony in cvr's own typically humble words: It was a real surprise for me to receive the great gift through a video conference arranged with TUG on 25th instant (till then I innocently believed that TUG wants to facilitate us on our 15th anniversary, which fell on 25th) wherein Wendy McKay of TUG, US announced and read the citation, while K Bazargan (my UK partner) who flew in carrying the neatly framed drawing, presented it to me.
