[ilugd] OSS applications for Police works
Hello, I want to know if some one can suggest bright ideas about what could be the useful police works applications. I began wondering about the same as we have a very rapidly increasing crime rate in our town same as all over country. I started thinking that maybe we can make some local community effort here to IT enable the police and improve their efficiency etc. I know this is a very tough idea to try to implement in reality, and is very prone to be widely diss-couraged and even out rightly rejected. These applications seems needs to be of two of the kinds most importantly a full database of locals, criminals, FIR logging system a CRM actually. Taking a further positive approach, operative effectiveness and budget will always be a concern, along that all most importantly there will be concerns about privacy of the data among the authenticity. To scare further full fledged sys admin job is required to be served from an authentic channel. Furthermore, this might come in a way to any of the upcoming IT plans of central/state govt. or Police dept. itself, still a way in the direction of the same could be following some guidelines to ensure interoperability to upcoming plans. I wanted to discuss with you all because maybe many of you are concerned about the way Police works and sure we all need better organisation and a system that works and effective crack down on crime across country for our near and dear ones, and ourselves too ;) Cheers, ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd Archives at: http://news.gmane.org/gmane.user-groups.linux.delhi http://www.mail-archive.com/ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org/
